MBP8,2: No Linux install...

What's with my new MacBookPro 8,2?

I cannot boot linux livecd; Ubutu (8-11!) never sees the CD filesystem after partial boot.

refit 0.14 never sees DVD either; I can place a bootable CD in the drive, but refit doesn't see that there's another bootable device.

Either way, I can't boot livecd or install linux.

I am able to boot Windows from DVD to install...

I have the same problem, with multiple Linux distributions, notably with Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty".

I am trying to set up triple boot. The Windows 7 system installed nicvely, but Ubuntu fails to boot.

The boot fails when it tries to load the ramdisk: The "dmesg" log says that the optical drive appears not ready, and after that it also does not show up in the rEFIt boot menu uyntil after I have booted into MacOS X.
