Model number different.Why??

I have a iPhone 4 and on the back of the box the model no. is MC603KS/A but when i check on general>about is MC603KS. Why is different??

The IMEI and SERIAL NO are ok.

The problem is : the model MC603KS/A is factory unlocked and the MC603KS is locked on Sweden carrier.(i read on another forum)

This means the Sweden carrier changed the model on the phone??? how??? The box was sealed.

iPhone 4, iOs 4.3.3

Normally the product code is like:

MC603 = model number - which product you have

KS = language like the Keyboard, PowerAdapter ... in the MacBook (Pro).

/A = revision of the product

In the iPhone software the /A revision is hidden, so when where is "MC603KS" it will be a MCC603KS/A. Actually there is no iPhone with "M...xx/B".

Edit:

MC603KS is the iPhone 16GB black sold in Sweden. According to this list every iPhone sold in Sweden is locked to a carrier?

Edit 2:

According to the Apple Online Store Sweden, Apple directly sells unlocked phones.
