I am trying to make a video-dvd starting from an Mkv-file. Importing the file in Toast works just fine, however during encoding of the video file (before burning) Toast stopped. I had the same problem with another Mkv-file. Can anyone give me some good advise? Thanks for helping.

I have had similar encoding problems. Mine were due to an MKV feature called "Header Removal Compression." I found an app called MKVTools that will remux the MKV file to eliminate this feature. It is located on the Edit Tab. I was then able to properly encode and build the file structure to burn an AVCHD disk etc. Here is a link for MKVTools:
I downloaded MKV -tools. I discovered that I had the same problem with "Header Removal Compression". After checking that box in the edit tab, my file was re-muxed. I could burn my DVD. Thank you very much for your help.
