how do I start safari with extensions off?

I have the "retore safari" extension and when I last used safari I had multiple tabs opened. Now when I try to start up safari, all the tabs are trying to open and I'm getting the spinning beachball; thus I can't select the preferences to turn off the extension. Is there a way to to shut off all the extensions as safari starts up???
