May I inquire as to the software to be used?
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and Saitek X52 are two that are often mentioned (various gamer boards) as good for use in OS X.
Th ejoystick will be used for the average typical games on the Mac.
Thanks,
average typical games on the Mac.
Well, That narrows it...... 😐
Many games simply rely on mouse control via alternate USB device.
In OS X, joystick to mouse control may be of interest:

The mentioned USB Overdrive will enable that which many devices can't do in OS X and have separate drivers for in Windows.
BTW, I use a Logitech with many average, typical games on a Mac.......
Sorry for the vague answer.
I suppose I will be using it mainly for the retro coin op games (Wardner, R-Type, Out Run etc.) that are used in conjunction with MacMame.
Is the Logitech Attack 3 compatible with the MacPro please?
No. Check the logitech web page for updates
I was going to suggest trying to use either an Xbox 360 or ps3 controller on your Mac pro, but maybe not. Logitech stuff may work, or may not. some have said it does (no driver needed) and some not so much. Maybe Joystick Mapper might help U out?
just a thought
JB
Thanks to all...I will look into it.
