Macbook pro wont charge

I cannot get my macbook pro to charge. Sometimes the orange light shows on the charge lead but most of the time there is no light..

As rkauffman 87 suggests, the cords can become frayed after a time. Look particularly where the cable enters the body of the power supply.

In addition, where the connector links with the computer, there are 5 pins. The centre one may need a bit of encouragement: try pressing it with a pencil, gently.

Also move the connector around as it touches the port on the notebook: connecting and disconnecting, up and down, a few times. Also turn that part round (so the left side goes to the right), making a different link may work. Other than that, it is off to the shop.
