It plays videos and I've just bought an Apple Component AV cable to connect it to my TV and play videos through it. But although I connected the cable correctly as per the instructions the TV just says 'No Signal'. Any ideas? more

Did you enable the TV Oout settings under the Video Settings?

Jun 22, 2011 3:15 AM in response to planb77by richard172,Thanks, but yes I did enable the TV out. In fact I tried it with each of the variables under Video Settings and the result was the same. I have followed all the instructions from Apple in relation to both the iPod and the AV cable to the letter but my TV just won't recognise it. It works fine with a 160 Gb iPod and an iPhone, but not the 80Gb Classic. Perhaps the Apple compatability advice is wrong.

Since the same cable works for both your 160 GB iPod and iPhone, it may indicate some sort of hardware issue with your 80 GB Classic. There really is no way to tell for sure though.

Cheers,
