Why does my iMac get so hot? Is that ok?
My iMac gets very, very hot on the back casing, including internally heats up cd's? Anyone know if this is ok? Should I worry?

What model iMac do you have? Have you installed iStat widget? It will measure the temps, and then you can post them to see if they are within normal limits.
If you are running Chrome, you have a much newer iMac than those this forum covers (the pre-2006 models), and they have different heat management issues than yours. Suggest you repost in the forum for Intel Mcs here:
before someone advises you how to fix the wrong model!
Like the OP, you don't list what variant of the iMac you have. I'm thinking you don't have an iMac because iStatPro is reporting a battery charge. If you have a Mac notebook, they are hugely different in heat issues than the desktop Macs.
If you have a Mac notebook computer, please find the appropriate forum for your model among those listed here:
Thank you for responding Allan, it's the first time on these forums, sorry I didn't realise I was in the wrong place.
Don't worry---happens a lot. Apple selected poor wording for forum titles. Example: anyone relatively new to Macs (bought in 2006 or later) may not know that "PPC" stands for "PowerPC," the processor type used before 2006. We've seen a huge number of misplaced posts in this forum since the unfortunate change in forum software last April created all-new (and sometimes non-intuitive) forum titles.
