Tried logging into the forum using my old Apple Id and got this:

We're sorry. Your account could not be created due to system issues.

Please contact Apple Support Communities with the information below to create your account."

I had to create a new Apple Id just to post this. Please help?

Could be a cookie problem.

If you are using Safari... go to Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies

Type apple in the search field top right corner of the window then click Remove All

Quit then relaunch Safari. Try logging in here again.

If that doesn't help, launch Keychain Access /Applications/Utilities

Select Passwords on the left. Delete the daw.apple.com keychain and the Safari Forms Autofill keychain.

Quit, relaunch Safari. Try again.

I've been having this same problem for well over a month. I have also written to Community Support weeks ago and haven't received a response. I just created a new AppleID but had to use another email account, as it came back stating that my email address was already associated with an AppleID.. Unfortunately, I rarely use that account so I'd prefer to go back to using my primary email address.

I've tried all of the above suggestions: deleted all Apple cookies, made the changes in Keychain, checked the FAQ (which doesn't address this problem.) I even tried calling Apple support but they can't look into it as the Community Support section isn't "officially" an Apple service.

Any other suggestions?

I've had the same problem. I have had no replies from Community Support despite about 2 e-mails a week for 4 weeks. The only answer is to create another Apple ID using a different e-mail address.

This is the company that wants us to trust all our data to iCloud. And then what happens if suddenly "your account can't be created due to service issues" and your data are all stuck up in the Cloud??

I too have been totally frustrated by the same problem for at least 2 months. I too am always presented with the same error message:

"We're sorry. Your account could not be created due to system issues.

Please contact Apple Support Communities with the information below to create your account."

I have entered my information and a detailed description of the problem AT LEAST 6 TIMES in the last 2 months, and have received ZERO response. I also emailed customer support, and no response from them either.

I finally got a new Apple ID today just so that I could get into Apple Support Communities to write this.

I'm glad to see that at least I am not the only one experiencing this problem, but it just seems so outside typical Apple customer service. With most other online customer service issues from other companies, at least I usually get an email that says that they have received my question and will get back to me. Even that would be a little reassuring, but at this point, it looks like anything I do just falls down some black hole.

I agree that this does not bode well for the upcoming scale-up of the iCloud service.

So, has anyone received ANY response when they can't sign into Apple Support Communities?

Well, I think I finally have an explanation. Apparently I set up an Apple ID many years ago, using a now-defunct email address. Anyway, I specified my discussion forum user name on that account as ALF. At some point later on, I started up a new Apple ID and specified the same user name. This was not a problem until Apple changed over to the new Support Communities format. At that point, they reconstructed the user database and the later Apple ID was kicked out because it had the same user name as the previous ID.

I'd completely forgot about that old account, but when a Support Communities moderator explained all this to me, I successfully logged into Support Communities with the old account. Unfortunately, Support Communities moderators only have limited powers. They cannot delete an old Apple ID, apparently these accounts cannot be deleted and will always exist, just waiting to be deactivated. Moderator do have the ability to change user names, so I will make that request - that is something a user cannot do.

So, I don't know if anyone else shares my particular problem with Support Communities, but there it is.
