Itunes won't let me create an account because it says that I do not meet the minimum age requirements. I was born in 1973.

Start again, new account with new ID

I did - I created a new id with a new email address. message still says "you cannot create an apple id because you do not meet the minimum age requirement"

Then I have no idea what to say (you did change names and dates I assume?)

Yes, I will call support. I did change the email address, birth date, etc. I don't know why it's telling me that. I tried with 2 different email addresses. I will contact support. Thanks!

I don't remember how it was resolved, it was so long ago! But as it stands now I set up an account for him using an email account account that goes directly to me. I like that because I can monitor his downloads.

Csound gave the solution.

You first have to logout completely ! To be sure restart the computer. Restart iTunes and do as the first time you want to create an account. And use everything different than the first time.
