Same for me. OS X Server 10.6.7 on Mac Mini Server 3,1

I have disabled auto software updates via terminal command but it still runs.

Trouble is as it runs, users' connections to the server are severely hampered, they're not disconnected but get spinning beach balls on open documents. Yesterday it lasted 30 minutes until SU timed out. Looking at the network throughput graph in Server Admin, there is no network throughput for the time SU was running. But once it stops then server performance resumes normally.

How do I totally disable SU from running on its own?

I've tried other avenues culled from other threads: deleted cache files from /var/folders/zz, repaired permissions but issue keeps recurring.

I was thinking of runing the 10.6.8 Server Combo Update this weekend but not hopeful if Frederic is running 10.6.8
