Garageband in the music industry

I know that there are a lot of DAW's out there that are used for professional-level production and recording. I just wanted to know if it was possible to use garageband itself in the industry. If I wanted to producer or write music for artists or movies, could Garageband be sufficient? What else would I possibly need?

A couple of years ago Oasis recorded an entire album in Garage Band. They said it freed up their creative process (or something similar). Probably something worth googling.

Also, a few years ago Trent Reznor released his song The Hand That Feeds in garageband format for anyone with a Mac to remix as they please. I had a lot of fun with that one.

Sounds sufficient to me ; )
