How can you fax a microsoft word document using a macbook pro with an all in one hp printer. I have tried but it does not recognize my fax machine and says I need a fax modem?????

Your Fax machine needs to be tied directly to your land line, if no fax modem interfacing with your Mac, you would have to print the doc, scan it into your HP fax machine to send. This is digital to analog back to digital. Old school.
You can send directly from your Mac, and bypass your HP, many options, here is one:

Ok. I appreciate your help. I have been reading other discussions on this and have found that it is impossible to send a fax from a mac b/c they removed the fax modems awhile back and there needs to be an external modem that plugs into the macbook.
