Installing Mac OS 9.0.3

Hi,

I have an old iMac, the operating system is Mac OS 9.0.3 in French.

I have the disks that came with the computer to install the operating system and the applications but everything is in French.

How can I download/get the equivalent of this disks in English?

Thanks for our help.

Esther

Hi, Esther. OS 9.0.3 was only released on machine-specific CDs, so there is no universal installer disk for that version. Therefore, your best bet will be to purchase a retail (universal) OS 9.1 or 9.2.1 installer CD. Unlike the disks you have, a retail disk will be white with a big gold "9" on it. Don't buy any gray disk — all of those are model-specific and may not work on your iMac.

Retail CDs may be available from www.applerescue.com and www.hardcoremac.com, among other online vendors.
