Won't scan

I had a happy new HP Officejet Pro 8500 Plus printer, scanner, fax which worked fine until I updated my software yesterday. Now I can't scan and keep getting the error message "com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9931." HP and I have spent hours on the phone but to no avail. It just won't work. Any ideas?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

I've got not experience with HP all-in-ones, but have you uninstalled and reinstalled?

Have you removed it from the Print & Fax list and re-added it?


Have you tried it logged in as a different user?
