My AC Power Cord is not working! What should I do?

I realised that my Macbook Pro was not charging today, so I tried to reset my SMU and PRAM. It didn't work. I took out the AC Power Cord and used the 60W MagSafe Power Adapter instead (I attached the AC Power Cord to the adapter to increase the length). My Macbook started charging, so I guess the problem lies in the AC Power Cord! What should I do? Should I send it to be checked to confirm that there's a problem with the cord, or can it be repaired?
