From what you first described, it does sound like the issue is with the keyboard; your test with another keyboard confirms this. Behavior such as you've described usually results from damage to the keyboard, often from a liquid spill. It doesn't take much liquid at all - a drop or two is enough.

With older wired keyboards, disassembly and/or washing was a possible corrective measure. Don't know about the wireless keyboards, though.

You'll probably need to get a new keyboard.

I had this exact same problem, but fixed it by connecting to a different Mac. This with a 2-year old, lightly used Apple wireless keyboard with a brand new 2012 MacBook Pro (10.8.2). When I typed [SPACE] it would add a forward slash and then sometimes go into caps lock. However, after trying for a while to get that undone, I connected the wireless keyboard to an old Mac. The keyboard worked fine. Then, going back to my new 2012 MBP, the keyboard worked fine again.

Hope this helps (15 months later...)
