I know this is an old thread, but I thought maybe that it's better than starting a new thread just to ask my question. If not, sorry.

Anyway, I have recently noticed more adverts on websites when browsing on my iPad. Is this normal and happening for everyone using an iPad?

This never used to be the case on the iPad.

For example. If I go to, 'Macworld' and several other websites on my iPad, a border as thick as the black border around the ipad screen itself, pops up around the top and sides of the screen, making the viewable screen much smaller and the whole thing look terrible. I can zoom to get rid of it, but obviously that is not great.

I just really would like to know if this is happening for others, or is my ipad infected somehow.

I find it hard to believe that the creators of these websites haven't tried it on an ipad and seen how bad it looks, and still decided to do it on purpose. Have they? Do they not know this will stop people using their website on iPads?

If anyone could tell me what is what here, I would be very grateful.

Thanks.
