is the battery dead already?
I left my 4 month old iPhone 3G turned off and didn't use it at all for about 20 days. Now the battery just drains off really fast. What could be the issue?

Read this http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
And the long term storage part in this http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html
would 15 days be long term?
Maybe
When charging it do you charge it until it shows the plug icon or until is says 100% but not the plug icon?
plug icon. the 3g doesnt have battery status indicator. however, i do that on my 4. once its 100% i dont bother beyond. wouldn't that mean the same?
There are 2 different charging states Fast Charge And Trickle Charge. Fast Charge stops supposdly at 80% then Trickle Crage starts and stops when the plug icon is showing.
As said in the Standard Charging section http://www.apple.com/batteries/
few days of regular use and its back on the track.
