Monster iCar FM Transmitter - no power

I just boughht the Monster iCar FM transmitter. I plugged it in to my 12v cigarette lighter and into the 30gb video ipod and nothing happened.

Anyone know if this is an issue with my power source in the car or the iPod?

I was expecting the fm transmitter dial to light up so I could do my pre-sets.

Cheers

Check the fuse for your 12V socket (or have a mechanic do it if you're not comfortable poking around under your dashboard). This happened to me a while back on my Jeep--I plugged something into the socket (not iPod-related) and the fuse blew. I replaced it and everything's been fine since.

Once you've ruled out your car as the culprit, try the Monster in someone else's vehicle. If it doesn't work, it may be defective. The Monster adapter itself might have a blown fuse--check that too.

I have used the Monster iCar FM Transmitter without problems for the past 2 months. I am guessing it's a problem with the connection of the jack to the power outlet on your car. Do you have another outlet you could test? It is possible that the jack and the outlet are not 100 % compatible and the connection is not perfect - in my previous Volvo it was virtually impossible to get anything plugged in working.
