Multiple game center accounts for single appleid?

I have 2 iPhones and an iPad for family members. I use my Apple ID to manage them. How do I assign a game center account to two other family members different than the one I use to manage the devices? I'd like to play games against them but we can't all use the same game center ID.

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.2, iPad

Thank you, it worked! Saved a lot of tears for my nephew who's also playing Dragonvale. For those who just stumbled to this page in search for solution for the same problem, go to iforgot.apple.com to change the password of the Game Center nickname you wish to recover. Enter the nickname in the Apple ID field and proceed. Then, in case of Dragonvale, run the game and enter the existing nickname and new password.

Same problem here, using Facebook also complicates it!!

My wife and I use the same IPad, I have an Apple ID, she plays the games. Whenever she tries to access her games through the FB App it shows my name as the player. The FB App control in the IPad Settings only allows one account to be linked. I've added the second Game Center user as posted above and she logs in yet it still doesn't work correctly!

Very frustrating!! :)

Hi I've just seen this - and I am having the same problem with my son's game center. How did you solve it? I contacted Apple but they were not very helpful... My son and daughter both play dragonvale on their ipods and have a nickname each which were both set up using my apple id. However on Monday my son signed out of his (which he never normally does but did on this occasion) and now when he enters the apple id and password on his ipod when entering game center it brings up his sister's game center profile and not his. We tried on her ipod and it still brings up hers not his. He is still visible as a friend on hers so we can see the account is still 'alive' but how on earth do we get his back. If he tries to log in with his nickname under 'view account' it says ' this nickname is taken by another player' but that player is HIM. Is there any way we can sort this - even tried deleting his sister's account which was set up after his and she is not that interested in it - to see if hers went would my son's come back - but no joy! he doesn't want to lose it and have to start again as he has been on dragonvale for months and has lots of achievemnets and is at a high level.... any help would be appreciated!

Many thanks

Having exactly the same problem. My wife and I are playing poker, but since one day I signed onto her ipad as my gamecenter ID, both our accounts have somehow become mixed. Whenever she logs in, it welcomes her on her ID, but plays on my ID. And vice versa. Not just on the ipad, but on either of our phones. Neither is this a shared AppleID, but totally separate AppleID's

We can't play on our own accounts, and have spent days trying to fix it. Everything from logging in/out, starting from game center, uninstalling Facebook. Uninstalling game on all units. Restarting phones and ipad after each variation.

This is doubly alarming, because thank god we're married and trust each other. If we weren't how does this huge oversight (bug) account for in-app purchases?

Hi. The game Center ID is the nickname You assigned it so Go to reset apple ID password put that nickname in and then reset the password. Then log back into game center with the nickname not the apple id.

You can link multiple game centres to the main apple ID if it's for children, determined by the date of birth when you create them, so kids can login with their own password and not the main apple ID password.

Incidentally the game in question for me was Dragonvale too and I emailed the developer of the app and asked if they could transfer the game to another game Center ID which i created (before I realised how to fix the issue) and they said they could, so that was another option had I not resolved my login issue. For this create a new account and then email the developer and get them to transfer the game content from the original ID to the new one, they're more than happy to help.

Hope this helps.

Hi There,

You seem to be very knowledgeable on this topic. I have one apple id and I am trying to create two additional Game Center accounts for my children. When I hit create new account it asks for an email address, I only have my email address which is linked to my apple id so it won't let me create a new account. I went and got a gmail account and create one new account but any game they tried to play that I was already playing, it took them to me game status instead of starting fresh. Please help.

Hi there,

I had a second game center account in my son iPod and, after iOS update to release 7, I found the first one fixed in iPod because I insert the apple id in game center login page.

To set the second game center account, I only insert the game center account, and related password, instead of apple id at game center login page.

This solve the question

Thanks to all

Hello,

I play real racing 3 on my iPhone 5. I bought yesterday an iPad air and when I entered my Apple ID, Game Center won't log in to my account, it wants me to add a new nickname. I have my game centre account on my iPhone with all my friends so I don't want to make a new account for iPad. How can I transfer my Game Center account from my iPhone to my iPad?

Thanx in advance!

After 2 hours worth of searching with no answer, I decided to run a test and it worked. This is what I did to have multiple Game Center IDs on iOS7. (People responding may have over looked this detail because they assumed it was obvious, but it wasn't)

Answer: you MUST have multiple Apple ID accounts, however, you use the main one to log in to SETTINGS > ITUNES & APP STORE.

1. I deleted the Alternate Email Address associated with my account

2. I created an entire new Apple ID with this email address

3. I login in to SETTINGS > ITUNES & APP STORE with my original Apple ID (credit card on file)

4. I login to Game Center, iCloud, etc... with my kid's NEW Apple ID

So purchasing still goes under our shared account and game center, iCloud, etc... go under my kid's Apple ID.

^ ^ ^ ^ This is the simple straight forward answer I was looking for ^ ^ ^ ^

ok, I spent over 3 hours with Apple techs and not a single one can figure this out. When we first bought my son an ipad over a year ago, I set it up with my apple id. He plays Clash of Clans. Another child wants to play, so we game my older son his own apple id, which he signs into the game with, but if I download the game, and try to log into the game for my other son on my new iphone, my older son's game comes up on the second device. I have tried everything in here, including creating a new apple id on my new phone. I have no clue how to fix this and it is making me CRAZY. If I go to SETTINGS>ITUNES & APP STORE, there is no place for me to delete email addresses associated with my account. I am doing this on my iphone 5, my oldest son has an ipad mini. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, You need to set up a new apple id for your other son in Game Center so he can start his own version of the game from scratch. This will still use your apple id for purchases of items within the game (which you control with your apple email id and password) but means your son can play games and log up his own achievements. So to do this:

Go to Game Center

Create a new Apple ID, this is a 'Nickname' if you will NOT an email address or new itunes account, something specific for children to use JUST when logging into Game Center.

So for example your apple id could be 'person@hotmail.com', whereas this new apple id for your son could be simply 'ClanGuru'.

Follow the creation details, entering your son's date of birth and assign a password, lets say 'clash123'

Now when logged into Game Center on your phone using 'ClanGuru' id and password 'clash123' your son should find that Clash of Clans is a clean version and not one that your elder son has previously played.

By the same token if you log into Game Center as person@hotmail.com then the Game Center will reflect any games played under your id, not your sons.

I hope this helps,

Lisa

Hi Lisa - This doesn't seem to work with Clash of Clans. I created a second AppleID for my son, and logged into GameCenter with it. When we loaded up Clash of Clans, it loaded the game associated with my AppleID instead. I don't think Clash of Clans supports multiple game sessions on a single device. Has anyone found this to work? Are there a lot of games that don't support this? Thanks!
