Has anyone ever plugged an MD player into their Mac (made by Sony)? I want to know if the Sonic stage software will work on my iBook but the website doesn't say. Thanks.

Well, I own an iBook and don't know where else to put this, can anyone at least tell me where to go to find out?? I'm sure some Apple user has once owned a minidisk. TY
According to this link it won't work on Mac.

I own the Sony Mini-disc MZ-R700, and can directly record from an iTunes playlist direct to mini disc.
The device came with a USB to optical converter, and by going into the sound panel on the Mac which contains that playlist Im able to see an additional menu selection when the R700 device is USB cabled.
I can thus, route the output of any of my Macs to the R700, and hit record, if things are properly cabled and config'd.
Tip: The end of the optical cable glows a 'laser-red' when audio is present as an output from the Mac...
Thinking conversely, Im sure its possible to route recorded audio from a mini-disc to a Mac- I would use the headphone jack on the R700 if needed.
Hope this helps l:)

This would be possible if the iBook had an audio-in port. You could use something like the Griffin Technology iMic with a microphone to record analog audio from your Mini Disc to the iBook.
