cannot verify server identity stuck

I need help. My Mum's Ipad is stuck on this CANNOT VERIFY SERVER IDENTITY screen.

there is three choices

Cancel

Details

Continue

Clicking on cancel does nothing the same menu pops back up straight away.

Clicking Details shows me a my mail server is not trusted. ( it had expired but has since been reactivated) other than this i click accept and it brings me back to the initial menu

Clicking Continue does nothing also just refreshes the original menu.

This has made the IPAD totally unusable as I have no idea how to circumvent this **** menu. At least if I can go into other parts of hte ipad I may be able to change some settings or disable the mail so the ipad can be used but as it stands now its just worthless paper weight.

Urgent advise needed.

I eventually rang up technical support. They had me do a hard reboot from memory. I think it involved pressing and holding the button down until the apple symbol appeared on the screen. its best to ring them up as I honestly cant remember if there was any more to it. It was super simple as I recall but it was notsomething that was documented anywhere that i could find how to do.

Thanks for the follow-up. So, I can confirm that a hard reboot (holding both the hold [top right corner] and the home button [round one at the bottom]) makes the window go away and the iPad is working normally again. Still, since this problem occurs on my iPad regularly, I'd be interested in a solution that prevents this problem rather than rebooting when it occurs. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Sorry for the delay, I just had to do it again for my Mum and her ipad simply because we updated some certificates at work which caused the pop up. so I accepted the pop up even though it kept cycling. The hard reset was then performed by pressing down the home button and the poewr button for about 10 seconds. when the apple logo appears you can release the buttons and then restart the ipad and all works as intended. I have not come across any other method yet that works apart from this. design flaw or feature who knows? hehe
