Java for Mac OS 10.5 Update 9

Question

Cannot update Java for Mac OS 10.5 Update 9 - says source media is damaged irrespective whether from Sotware Updater or direct download

any advice would be appreciated.

Are you up to date with the latest security updates?

The most recent was 2011-002 from April 7.

yup mac is fully updated..the only pending update is for Java

Try repairing your hard drive using Disk Utility after booting from your install DVD:
