Hi the airport extreme on there is the 4th gen 2009 version there has been new 5th gen extremes released today

? I don't see the tech specs for 4th nor 5th generation Airport Extreme. The most recent I see is 3rd gen (03/2009) .... ?
According to the FCC reports, there is a significant difference in the power output of the g/n radios at both 2.4 and 5ghz.

This should mean a fairly significant increase in range with the new model. I would imagine these changes would be consistent with the Time Capsule as well.

This article from AppleInsider says there was small internal modifications that made big advancements in range. 2.8X the power of the previous model.
As the article states, the reason Apple probably chose not to specify the changes is because it all depends on your set up. That's why any respectable router will never claim any specific distance. There are just too many variables that can't be accounted for.
I'm sure it's also more efficient, less heat, and more reliable. They've had the same body for a long time and I'm sure each revision they learn from and perfect it more and more.
its faster and reaches farther. real world tests. I use it like 250 ft away from my house.
