APPLE - GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!!!!!

I purchased FCP X at 6 AM Tuesday morning, and two hours later asked for a REFUND. It has now been 48 hours and all I have received was a automated reply they would get back to me within 24 hours. What is going on!!!! Has anyone else received a refund yet? Is there a phone number to call?

This is ridiculous! Horrible product hidden in a trustworthy name then NO CUSTOMER SERVICE to deal with the problem.

This is no longer a professional application. That's it in a nutshell.

Yes I have had a very nice apologetic email from Apple stating that they will refund my full amount.

This gives me hope for the future as soon as FCP X is more mature I will at least consider buying a new version.

This is very sad, that apple would think that creatives would think this was a Pro version. I have never been this upset with apple. The hype is becoming just that. I feel like apple pulled one over on me, big time. They really thought we would see this as an upgrade... Apple is falling from gace in the professional editing world. Big bad move for apple... Maybe Steve is already gone and no one cares about creatives anymore. And by the way, we all have the right to say what we feel. It,s our money and apple is only there because of the creatives that stood by them...

You need to understand the passion and major disappointment we all feel...

Now apple should start over and give us a real upgrade, not a work on crap... This is not a pro version, it is a down grade...

BTW it has also been pirated .. its all on the web. So MacAppStore is totally useless if Apple intended to protect their apps. And it also proves that a delivery as dmg is possible.

Apple had to know that creatives know they are paying more for great product. We make a living off final cut pro and it was very important that this new version work by opening the old timeline in the new skin. But I think that the creatives and those that have supported apple for years were left out of this change and only money was important. I would rather have my DVD of the software.... One other point, apple should give everyone their money back and have a public stoning of those guys who talked them into this crap.

Way to go apple forget about all us who have been there for years and depend on real upgrades not smoke and mirrors....

I let my 8 year old play with iMovie and he thought this was his upgrade from iMovie... I agree...

Apple showing signs of "NOT CARING" just the money matters... The Apple I loved for 20 years would never have done this to us... It's like a family member robbing you while your not looking... I don't know about the rest of you, but I had thousands of dollors in plug-ins and filters that no longer will work.

This morning I asked for my money back and like everyone must turn to AVID for a real upgrade....

I wish they would just come out and say we messed up on this and will make it good... I am worried they will wait to long...

Thanks for this post. When I read Apple's announcement, I was interested but suspicious. This discussion confirms my worst fears. I will stick with FCP7 for the time being. From the discussion, it seems there is a parallel between FCPX and some of the wierd things they did in various versions of iMovie.

My hope is that Apple will see the light and develop an upgrade or new version of FCP that meets the needs of its FCP community. I am not a production house, but have a lot invested, both hardware and time in FCP projects.

I know somebody who got in touch with Apple yesterday to complain about this silly product. He said to them that, oh well, thanks to that equally silly App Store, (in which App apparently stands for A Pirate's Paradise), the silly product will be splashed all over the internet for exactly what it's worth in a few days - $zero. He just phoned me to say never mind the few days, it's there already.

I think Apple deserve this.

IMHO The writing is on the wall as far as apple is concerned with the final cut apps. These looks like releases to appease the FCP users who have been requesting and update and by the posts its failing miserably. Like many i have really been looking forward to an update but this is beyond disAPPointment. I know it's only been out for hours but just look at the features that are missing?

For me the biggest setback with the Final Cut Studio suite has been the lack of adoption for Blu-Ray. I know Apple backed the wrong horse but plenty of people are reluctantly buying encore just to fill what they thought was a temporary void. Now it's been handed to Adobe on a plate.

In the long run this has to be professional suicide so apple can drop the app and say it's no longer viable. You only have to look at the volume of feature additions Adobe have made to Premiere since returning it to the Mac and it's begs the question is FCP still viable, or worse still, is the mac platform still viable?

You only have to read there quartley profits to know that the money is no longer in the pro apps.
