Fontbook font weight issue

I'm having an issue with some fonts in fontbook. I have fonts that have different weights, and Fontbook doesn't seem to be able to distinguish the different.

For instance I have a font that has weights of:

Ultra Light

Light

Book

Medium

Semi Bold

Bold

Black

Ultra Black

However, fontbook only classifies them as "Regular", "Italic", or "Bold. So I can install all the fonts and my list will look like this:

Regular

Regular

Regular

Bold

Bold

Bold

Italic

Italic

Italic

If I click on the actual weight, the preview shows it correctly, but the names are all just duplicates of "regular, regular regular" over and over. This causes even more issues becuase when I move over to my Adobe programs, it confuses Adobe. Adobe only shows in the drop down weight menu "regular", "bold", "italic". When in reality I have many weights of that font installed. I can only use three.

How can I get Fontbook to identify my fonts correctly and not all as regular or bold?

These fonts are Open Type ".otf" files, if that makes any differnce. Although I have other Open Type fonts that work find and display all weights properly.

I think it's because my Regular, Regular Italic, Medium Italic, and Medium weights are all listed as "Regular" it is causing Adobe to think that they're all one typeface and so I'm only getting one in Adobe. There must be a way to edit the files to show FontBook / Adobe that they are all different weights.

Here's a terribly cropped screen shot of what I'm talking about.
