Use your ratings on the App Store not on the forum

If you really don't like FCPX, and have spent some time working with it, or feel that this application is not what you expected it it to be, vote. Go to the App Store and put in your ratings. Vote with your mouse. If you like the app and love what Apple has does for professional editing, do the same, but whining about FCPX or extolling the application's virtues here does nothing at all. Let's keep these forums for what they were intended, constructive Q&A about working with Apple's hardware and software.

Sorry, but I'm stunned by your comment. This should be the leading forum on the internet for all things to do with Final Cut, including whether existing users of FCP 7 should actually buy FCP X or not. Removing opinions about whether FCP X delivers a useful benefit or not to potentially 1.3 million users is censorship of the worst kind.

Alerting me to the fact that FCP X does not understand XML files, EDLs, .fcp files, etc, etc, is pretty "constructive" IMHO.

Tom, you are right that we need to vote on the App Store. However, I think what most people are doing is trying to get answers. Unfortunately, due to what we were lead to believe, we are angry, and there is probably more emotion here than helpful dialog.

But it would be better to get answers first and vote later. If in fact things are not as they appear and there are changes just around the corner or misunderstandings, etc. then we are trying to ask the questions to find out. However, Apple is silent and provides no channel to get those answers.

I'm still waiting to hear from Apple and Canon to see if I can use this product. I don't want to give a bad review without information. However, if after a week is up, I haven't received any news, I will be look at alternatives, refunds, and appropriate reviews.

You are missing the total purpose of what these discussions are about.

Did you read and agree to the terms of use before you signed?

We are fellow apple users and are here to help others and receive help with the products we use.

It's a typical problem with any new software or hardware by Apple, that quite a few who who are first time posters or who come out of the woodwork appear not to come for help but bash the product and insult not only Apple, but also other users. Constructive criticism, is ok, but calling others idiots that which is now coming a common word on these threads or even despots etc is not free speech.

Great...the forum police are out.

No, I vehemently disagree. If it's a piece of garbage and their are problems, I commend people for speaking up in all public forums.

Apple needs to be accountable and if need be offer refunds. I'm a little gun shy to buy the app myself for a variety of reasons:

  1. The user feedback in this forum
  2. Not knowing if it will truly support the 1080 60p video from my sony HDR-CX560V
  3. iMovie having issues importing and editing H.264 content (it desaturates it when edited, and oversaturates it on export).
  4. Gamma bug with h.264 video in quicktime
  5. Final Cut Express being a piece of garbage (crashes, lack of support, etc.)
  6. Aperture being buggy, slow, crashes, etc. - I switched to lightroom
  7. Premiere Pro CS5.5 has a trial version and I know that works with my file formats
  8. The money

So speak up FCPX users! We want to here from you!

THANKS, Tom, for your initial post!
