Keyboard won't connect to iPad.

Hello, I purchAsed a first gen iPad with a wireless Bluetooth keyboard case. When I first set it up the keyboard paired and worked great. Well I had to re-pair the iPad and keyboard but it doesn't work. I get to the point in pairing where it asks me to type the 4 digit code and hit return or enter but it just sits there when I hit enter with the bluetooth light flashing on the keyboard then informs me the keyboard is on and in range but will never get past entering in the code. Any ideas?

A few thoughts:

Check the battery in the keyboard.

Try restarting or resetting the iPad to see if that clears up the problem.

Thanks for the quick response. I tried resetting to factory settings and rebooted it with no success. I have the keyboard plugged in now and will try again in a bit.

Have you tried forgetting the keyboard in Bluetooth settings and trying to pair it again?

Just read your last response, and my suggestion is not applicable now. So kindly disregard.

It's sitting in my Bluetooth list as unpaired. When I click it to pair is when I get the enter the 4 digit code which doesn't work. I am almost curious to see if my enter key is bad. Is there an alternate function key for enter?

Face it Apple products are over priced and don't work. I have an apple wireless keyboard and an iPad. The keyboard has new batteries and is one in a way. 30 mins of attempts and still "won't recognize". Try a PC tablet on a wireless keyboard, connects in 15 seconds.
