I'm trying to share the songs from my husbands iphone that he has downloaded from itunes. We have the same itunes account. Why do I have to pay for the same song he downloaded that I've already paid for?

You don't.
All of the music should be on your computer in itunes. Just sync both iphones to the same itunes library.
If you open iTunes on your phone, click on the "Purchased" button, then select the "Not on this phone" tab. Click on the songs you want to transfer to your phone.
I tried that JD, but it asked me for payment information, so I'm not sure if Im paying for the songs again.

Is it asking for payment or your Apple ID? It should ask for the Apple ID.
It asked for the apple id, and then for a form if payment. It's not giving me a price for the songs when I download them tho. Maybe they just needed a card on file or something?
Every time you authorize a new device to your iTunes account, it verifies your payment information. If you already have a credit card on file, it will just ask you for the 3 (or 4) digit code. Apparently, if you don't have any payment information at all on file with that account, it requires that you put it in.
Ok, well that must be the case. I guess if I was actually purchasing the song it would tell me that I was buying the song and not just downloading it?

I went on my itunes n i didnt have enough to buy a song, so i went on itunes then pirchased n i went on the artest so is 1D and it says the song artist and has a cloud with a down arrow, bu the time u finished dowloadi g all the songs you want, go on music and voillaaa zxx soeey i amon ipod so. Its hars to type hope i helpeds!!xx
