Yes you can. But it will be pixelated in full screen mode. The experience won't be as good either.

The iPad requires more power to charge it than the iPhone or iPod, and most computers (especially older ones) don't provide enough power to their USB ports in order to charge the iPad at a sufficient rate - it will probably still be charging, just slowly (it will be a bit quicker if the iPad's screen is off).

The wall charger that came with the iPad is the most efficient way to charge it - and though it's more powerful than the one that comes with the iPhone, you can also safely charge iPhones (or iPods) with it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4327)

"The iPad requires more power to charge it than the iPhone or iPod, and most computers (especially older ones)"

this is wrong

usb is spc'd to be 5volts and 0.5amps and that mean 2.5Watt

any computer which differ from that in what it's usb port provides are

not following the spcs of usb

and if an usb device provided with more power then spces by the usb std malfuction can be sued into **** by consumers

Still learning, why do the APPS in the secation "iphone, ipod touch, & ipad" under itunes on your computer have the apps listed the will work on the ipad but when you launch 'em they look like a normal iphone app (I know about the x1 botton in the cornor)? Do you have to download the ipad app in the app store on you ipad? For exp. Textfree is made for the ipad as well but shows up as a normal app

Universal apps 'work' on all iOS devices but show up small on the iPad. iPad specific apps are designed for and show full screen on the iPad and will not 'work' on the iPhone or Touch.

What I'm trying to say is, until the app devolper comes out with the app to takes up the full screen for the pad as well as the iphone It will be normal size?

Yes, it will be iPhone size, not necessarily normal size. There is no normal in this case.

As for the textfree app being normal size do I need to go download a ipad version since the one I'm using on my phone insn't working on the ipad?

Possibly. I don't know what 'isn't working' means in your case.

I use Textfree on iPhone and iPad, but I did download the iPad version for my iPad as it is fully optimized for the larger screen size. I also wound up getting a separate number for my iPad Textfree account as it was a pain in the patooty to have to log in and out of each device each time I wanted to send a free text. So, I have my iPhone Textfree account. And I have a different one for my iPad.
