OK.
Are we supposed to read your mind as to what you've done to troubleshoot?
Try the hard reset;
Hold the Home Button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
If that doesn't resolve your issue, please reply with more information.
-Is it showing the Apple Logo? Does it have a progress bar underneath?
-Have you changed anything, for example, jailbreaking?
-Any other relevant information?
Hope it gets fixed 🙂
It has the apple logo and the bars that say it is "thinking" won't go any farther.
I have tired to push the power button on top and the button on the front and nothing happens.
What do you mean when you say it has the bars that says it is "thinking"?
Is it a long bar underneath the Apple logo?
Nothing showing on the screen except for the apple logo
when I connect the cable to my computer it says" has incurred an unknown error Ox8000065
If you are getting 0xE8000065 then see if this page helps : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3221?viewlocale=en_US
Is an app frozen, like Mail and the multi touch display won't function? If it is, press the home button. When you get there, double-click it again. When the multitasking bar pops up, hold down on the icon of the app that froze until a red stop sign-ish thing pops up in the upper right-hand corner. Press the stop sign. Then double click the home button and reopen the app.
If this isn't it, try a reset, by pressing the on/off button and the home button at the same time.
Tried the hard reset, no use. No app frozen that we know. iPad is the original and has been used without issue for two years. Now waiting for flight to Australia, so will try again tomorrow. Thanks for suggestions
and keep it pressed until you see the apple logo and let go right?????
The only way is to wait till te battery ends, i have quite experience in this area when that happened to my ipod twice
Plug into itunes and restore the device.
Anyone here realize that janetfrombranson made the first post but then bullington described a problem. Just who is asking the question?
I checked every forum on Ipad re: blacking out and found one because mine just blacked out. I merely press power and start button at the same time for seconds as instructed by one user, presto, it worked!
There are many things you can do to fix a frozen iPad. If you made a backup, go to iTunes and restore it, you can hard reset it by pressing the home and power button at the same time, if it is jail broken by redsn0w, go to redsn0w on your computer, and click tethered boot in the extras area, in a time of desperation, just go to the apple store and they'll usually fix it for you. My iPad was frozen for about 3 weeks showing the apple logo on the black screen only turning off when the battery ran out. I went to the apple store and they fixed it in 10 min.
