Thanks again to everyone that responded.  Honestly, I can't take credit for the fight.  I have an excellent team of surgeons.

That may be, but it took you to find them and go to them.

The win goes to those willing to fight.

Add one more congrats.  Been reading your posts replies and comments for over a year, and feel like you are part of the family.  Good news is always good.

Hey Phily_Phan--I was going through some of your other posts about Lion (which I loved), and happened to catch this one. From one Philly Phan (and resident) to another--congrats and good luck!

-Rob (life long Philadelphian going back to Connie Mack Stadium!)

Connie Mack Stadium?  The right name is Shibe Park!  Heck, I even remember the "Motor Bandit Patrol."

I haven't been a legal resident of Philly for fifty years now.  I've lived as far away as California and Washington State and as close as southern New Jersey but I've always called myself a Philadelphian.

    Bring back the "Red Cars!"

Congrats! I"m recovering from major surgery to fight my first bout with cancer.  I can't imagine going thru this all again.  It's been horrific but I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.  Keep fighting!

"Bring back the "Red Cars!" (I think my 80+ year old mother still calls them "red cars.")

That's as impressive as "Shibe Park!" I'll bet you took "PTC" to 20th and Lehigh. (The kid saying "Watch your car for a dollar" still hangs out there. )

"but I've always called myself a Philadelphian."

You eat your cheesesteaks "wit", don't you?

A case of Tastykakes and a box of soft pretzels are on the way to speed your recovery! Go Phils!

For me, the worst part was the fear of the unknown.  Once the situations were defined, the fight bcame more manageable.  Hang in there!

PTC, of course.  PRT only because my dad told me about it.

Shibe Park.  Route 15 trolley to the Broad Street subway and then on to Lehigh Avenue.  Walk the remaining distance and enjoy the ambience of the crowds.

Had a friend in college that lived in one of the Shibe Park right field homes.  His folks had a dozen chairs on the roof.

"Wit," of course!  Soft pretzels from Essig's at 5th & Girard.  Wasn't much of a Tastykake fan until I left Philly and couldn't get them.  Introduced hoagies to Lompoc, California with some help from a Bulletin columnist James Smart.  Did volunteer work at old Fort Mifflin.

Congratulations! Perhaps in honor of you, the Phillies won't collapse in the playoffs again. :-)
