After 10.6.8 Mini Displayport to HDMI PROBLEM

10.7.1 is out, and the bug is still there, fyi. Don't upgrade from 10.6.7, even if you're tempted. 😟

It looks as though this issue will be resolved in 10.7.2. The 11C37 seed reintroduces brightness control.

This is a great reason to have time machine backups. I rolled back to 10.6.7 after discovering both lion and 10.6.8 affected the brightness controls like this. Looks like I can go to Lion at 10.7.2... which is awesome. Really loving Lion on my other macs, be awesome to have it on iMac.

Yes, I've heard a few things about 10.7.2 and one of them is the brightness control issue has been fixed. This is great news. I love Lion too. As soon as 10.7.2 is released I'm getting rid of my Snow Leopard partition. I'm discovering so much more (the little things snow leopard doesn't do) that Lion offers that Apple didn't even advertise. 🙂

I've tried to file bug report as well as apple feedback too.

I've no plan to upgrade to Lion, not sure if anyone know if this fix will be available in 10.6.9?

tom.davey, what version of 10.7.2 are you running? It definitely WAS fixed in 10.7.2 11C37.

Are you referring to the GM build? I wonder of this is a regression or not, as I've not upgraded yet. Can you not control the brightness at all?

Yeh 😟 I'm running a 2011 MBP 17" to a 2009 3.02 27". I tried, with the iMacs keyboard, to adjust brightness. Voume works, but no brightness....this is the latest seed ...

Apple giveth, and Apple taketh away. I guess you never got to try your particular setup with a previous build?
