Couldn't restart.. Blue screen to login and back to blue screen.

Tried to do bug report from iPad but drop down list for configuration empty.

Resorting to restore from time machine.

Anyone licked this?

Anyone know of a way to back out an update?

Try deleting the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist file then open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following:

killall Dock

Press RETURN.

Thanks all. By the time I got my system restored but not updated it was late. The problem was gone, but came back when I took the combined updates through 10.6.8 again. But this time I had your help and since I had only one VM I chose to deselect the option to show the folder in the dock as per captfred and later besabella. I didn't try Kappy's solution, because I didn't want to recreate the problem again.
