Youtube lags on iPad and iPhone
This has been an issue since day one with the iPad. I figured a year later, there would have been some sort of fix for this. Youtube is still a horrible experience for me on my iPad, as well as my iPhone 4 via wifi. All my other devices, computers run fast, as I have 40mbps high speed cable, and an Airport Extreme base station. Apparently this is a wide spread problem that Apple has clearly failed to acknowledge. I've researched many solutions from google, like changing the dns settings w/in the iPad, reseting my network connection; I've been using WPA2 encryption. Other apps, such as ABC, or Hulu Plus run wonderfully. If you Youtube is one of the key selling points of an iPad, than I feel seriously duped. I have a 64 gb iPad 3g, and Youtube has always been a poor experience. Youtube is ok, when using the 3G on my iPhone, w/out wifi, but it's at an extremely degraded low res quality. Has anyone discovered a true fix for this issue? I've even gone as far as doing a software restore on my iPad, with no resolve.
When I mean Youtube lags, I mean it takes very long time to buffer, then it may play about 20 seconds of video, before it starts to buffer again- and sometimes, it can take several minutes, rendering it virtually useless. It forces me to get up from my bed, and go to my Mac Pro desktop. I don't want to invest in iPad 2, just for this reason. I really like my iPad, except for the Youtube problem. Has anyone heard anything new regarding this topic? I think it is out of warranty now, as I bought the 64 gb 3g, when it first released, opening day.
