Barefeats was looking at two 6G but you still have very limited bandwidth with Mac Pro's controller not even offering 250MB/sec per SATA port, they are not independent, they are not "per port" at all like the literature mentions. They share a single controller and offer only 600MB/sec for all four drive bays.

The maximum average transfer speeds of internal SATA RAID 0 sets are limited on the both the 2009 'Nehalem' Mac Pro and previous Mac Pros. This may be due to the fact that the I/O hub has only 1000MB/s to disribute among all I/O devices including USB and FireWire.

If you are planning to boot from a RAID 0 array, you may not see any better performance than you would booting from a single SSD. That's RAID set can't do any more transactions per second than a single SSD.

Better to spend your money on one good larger SSD than two.
