How to change Apple ID on iPhone

I had to change my email address and I've also changed it in iTunes, however now I can't log into iTunes to purchase apps from my iPhone. It still shows my old Apple ID and I can't figure out how to change it. I've synced my phone with computer but doesn't help.

I am not on the Cloud so I don't have that problem. My new Apple ID is properly installed but I still get dialog box asking me to sign in for apps bought (for free) under prior Apple ID. Can I solve that problem by deleting "old" apps and repurchasing them under the new ID? I assume anything that I now purchase will be under new ID. If I delete all of the old ones and repurchased them again, will I have solved my problem? Anything else I should do? Thanks for your help.

I am not using iCloud. After changing my Apply ID I deleted all prior apps and reloaded new ones. All show up on my iPhone as added after the ID change. I assumed that by doing so I had purged the system of my old ID. Yet I still get a dialog box asking me to sign in under my old ID but it will not accept the old password. Suggestions? I just cancel and things continue to work fine. Annoying.
