Cant read sandisk magic gate card on ipad2

If you mean the using camera connection kit, then how are the photos getting onto the card - direct from a camera, or you adding them yourself from a computer ? If via a computer then the card needs to have a DCIM directory off its root, with the pictures underneath it with filenames of exactly 8 characters (no spaces) plus their file extension.

The Magic Gate card isn't a SD card, is it? I thought it was Sony memory stick format, in which case I believe it is incompatible with the camera connection kit.

I think ToneFox is right. The Magic Gate card is Sandisk's version of Sony's proprietary card format. The Sony cards, as well as Sandisk's equivalent, won't work with Apple's Camera Connection Kit due to size and power differences.

You need to use the USB adapter in the Camera Connector Kit. You may need to find a USB adapter for the Magic Gate card or load it into a camera that can read the card and connect the camera by USB. The card's information needs to be in a format as if it were written directly from the camera.
