iPhone 4 - won't restore unknown error 1013

IPhone 4 - cannot make calls connect to iTunes to restore. Connected to iTunes and attempted restore however won't allow the restore. Unknown error 1013 every time. Anyone got any ideas tried on 2 different computers and still 1013 error. Stuck in DFU mode now and won't update.

The phone has only been used for 2 hours then this stupid thing happens...anyone got any ideas on what I can try before I take it to the nearest apple/orange store?

I've tried on 2 computers, both with latest iTunes. Host files are clean, even put them both in the DMZ on my router to bypass firewall,...still 1013 error.

If I do take to the apple store will they replace if they cannot get to work???

Thanks in advance

If there's nothing blocking gs.apple.com in the hosts file or security apps, and the phone isn't hacked, there may be a hardware issue.

Presumably it's still under warranty and if there's no evidence of abuse or "unauthorized modifications", it will be replaced with a refub.

I have tiny umbrella, tried that to kick it out of recovery...still nothing.

@modular747 care to elaborate on "other things can cause it"?

Phone had not been jailbroken or anything, my fiancé was using it and then popped p with the "cannot make calls connect to ITunes".

I've tried putting 4.3.2 on also and still not luck.

Anyone??? So frustrating seen as though the phone has only been used for 2 hours!!!

Other things include blocked ports 80 and 443 (which sometimes are blocked by educational institution IPSs), other proxy and firewall issues, and hardware failure. See the link I posted and all the referenced links inside. Also: iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Note that using tinyumbrella alters the hosts file again...

And, attempting to downgrade to 4.3.2 causes more problems - see error 1015 and 3194

Guys I have working Fix for this:

So first uninstall itunes

Next, create a new account with Administrator access

SIGN OFF the original account (Make sure you are logged off or this will not work)

Sign into the new account

Download and install itunes

Put you iDevice into DFU

Restore and update your device

Once completed, delete the new account and reinstall iTunes on your original Account

If yu need to ever restore the same device that you had trouble with, follow these steps or it will fail again.
