Safari won't open Yahoo

Safari 5.0.5 --I go to Yahoo mail--log in--all OK--but next get this:

"Safari can’t open the page.

Safari can’t open the page “http://us.mc307.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome?.gx=1&.tm=1309088600&.rand=cjvf8l3v7td om” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again"

This just started happening one day. I repaired permissions, disabled all extensions, got new Safari plist--nothing made any difference. Firefox connects with no trouble. Occurred both before and after 10.6.8 update. No trouble at any other website.

Any ideas would be appreciated--thanks!

That narrows it down to Safari and Yahoo.

Go to your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies

Delete all Yahoo cookies.

Now empty the Safari cache, from the menu bar, click Safari / Empty Cache.

Restart your Mac, try Safari / Yahoo.
