iPad AT&T Data Plan Auto-Cancel?

Yesterday I took my old iPad 3G to best buy because of a screen problem , they upgraded me to an iPad 2 , will the first iPads data plan auto cancel ? I made a new account and everything on my new iPad . The lady at best buy said they would restore it and wipe all my info off.
