How do I clean the screen of my IMAC?
iMac
Either with a special cloth sold for the purpose (work well on TVs as well!) or with a barely damp cloth, then dry off with a clean paper towel.
Do NOT use sprays of any kind!

Micro-fibre clothes are good, use a slightly damp one to clean off residue and buff wit ha clean one
Some resellers who focus on Apple products may have
a selection of compatible or safe cleaning items. For
my older hardware, the microfiber cloth has worked &
a few times a year, I use a little vinegar-based window
cleaner applied to part of the cloth, before wiping off
any stubborn areas, & finish with the dry cloth portion.
Too bad these discussions no longer give a clue to how
old they are before clicking on them to open. I'd usually
never look back three years and reply to anything at all.
Not even after 11+ years of occasional viewing.
PS: older Apple computers with soft-surfaced LCDs
are different than newer hard-glass surface models.

The best way to clean the screen of a Mac is to just use water with something like a microfibre cloth or a sponge.
DO NOT USE WINDEX. No matter what people say about Windex helping in cleaning a screen, it just removes the anti-glare layer on screens of those type and the chemicals in it can damage the screen.

There are screen cleaning kits and protective static-cling layers one can
get to use on different kinds of displays; some older soft flexible screens
do not have much protection and also are harder to clean; but should be
prior to attempting to attach a protective layer.
Better resellers may have an understanding of the difference between
vintage and later technologies and brands, to supply better answers.
Here's an example of a vendor who has been around decades and is
a source for several possible answers in the way of quality products.
High quality screen protectors and cleaning products:
In the past, they directly replied to questions I had about (then new)
vintage Mac portables and desktop models I owned with LCD panels.
Other sources may include OWC macsales.com, and also any official
Apple store if you have a modern Apple product, for advice on care.
