Time Machine error -1

Hi,

I'm not using a Time Capsule, I'm using the "Home Media Network Hard Drive Cloud Edition".

So, I deleted my old sparsebundle file from my iOmega external hard drive and I'm trying to create a new backup using timemachine. The time machine create correctly the new sparsebundle in my iOmega but the Time Machine still trying to use my old file.

This is the message that I receive when I start my Time Machine:

The backup disk image

“/Volumes/TimeMachine-1/.MyNAME_OLD-MacBook-Air_109adda7fffa.sparsebundle”

could not be accessed (error -1).

The path is wrong: “/Volumes/TimeMachine-1/.MyNAME_OLD-MacBook-Air_109adda7fffa.sparsebundle” I'm not using "MyNAME_OLD" anymore and "TimeMachine-1" is no longer available in my Volumes directory.

The problem is the TimeMachine still using a old reference and I don't know how to set up to use the new.

Any idea??

Tks in advance

Hi Pondini, thanks for helping me.

I was re-selected the iOmega NAS before and didn't work, so I follow your instructions per #A4 and didn't work for me.

I did the following:

1 - I Entered into TM preferences and remove the disk selected before

2 - I Turned off my TM

3 - I went to my Terminal and removed the file "com.apple.TimeMachine.plist" using the command rm -rf filename (and I checked if the file was deleted)

4 - I restart my computer and my iOmega NAS

5 - I'm enter again in my TM preferences, turned it on, selected my disk. The TM was created a new file into my iOmega NAS called by: "Renato-Vicentini-Air_109adda7fffa.sparsebundle" and after some seconds the TM returns the same error before: "The backup disk image “/Volumes/TimeMachine-1/.Renato-Vicentinis-MacBook-Air_109adda7fffa.sparsebundl e” could not be accessed (error -1)."

Do you have any other idea?

Regards
