You will have to purchase the iPad versions of iWork from the iTunes Store. The one on your Mac canoot be installed on an iDevice.
Wow ... The girl at the apple store made it sound like I needed the box set in order to do that?? I didn't eve n need iworks for my Mac, just the operating system... Thank you for your response!
You may prefer having both so you can work on documents on either platform. But if not then return it if you can.
Please note the items listed under Legend in the right sidebar of this page. 🙂
Good point. Thank you.
Are the iPad iWork apps dependent on the Mac versions or matching Windows based programs? In other words, are the iPad apps complete standalone apps or is the feature set limited or even dependent on the desktop counterparts?
Sorry, a little slow on this subject, so sorry if I didn't explain it correctly... I bought iworks, to update my Mac software and that's it really, however, the girl at the store said that if I buy the box set, iLife, snow leopard and ( the compatible to windows office) I could down load that onto my Mac, then sync my iPad to my Mac and transfer over iworks to my iPad? If I would have known from the start that I could not do that, I would have just bought snow leopard, then downloaded the (compatible programs to office), via the app store for $10 bucks each. Little frustrated at this point, not with the answers, but with the in for that I received from the apple employee...
If you did not already have Snow Leopard, you might check the OS upgrade policy. My hope is that you will not have to pay for the Lion upgrade when it is released. While the advice was probably not correct, it may have been helpful. It seems like it becomes harder get the previous OS X release once a new one comes out and I am not sure if you can go directly from Leopard to Lion.
My other concern was that before spending more money, it would helpful to know the capabilities of the iPad versions of the iWork apps first.
