Hi Everyone
I have tried searching for a solution but cant seem to find one.
If I export using Quick time movie and not changing any settings = no issue
If I export using Quick time conversion and changing size to 1980 x 1020 turning off sound and using H.264 compression an error occurs - out of memory or General error
I have trashed preferences and rendered all
Extremely frustrated
Power Mac 12 Core, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 12 GB Memory
Restart your computer and ONLY open FCP.... try again.
Otherwise, what many folks here prefer (including myself) is to export a self contained movie w/command-e (using current settings) and then using Compressor to handle the conversion to h264....
thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a shot. However surely with a 12 core and 12GB of Ram I should be able to do this relatively simple function.
I have this error message however here is something I discovered.
I run 7.0.3 on 10.6.8 and my H.264 export settings work fine.
I run 7.0.3 on a desktop running 10.7.3 and when I export from here I get a 'General Error'
I think it has something to do with iOS.
I also sometimes get interlacing issues.
Why would it have something to do with iOS? That's for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Your computer runs on Mac OS X.
Sorry, that's what I ment. The OS is different on the two systems I've tried.
export from fcp with current settings and do the rescale in compressor with the resizing set to best in the frame controls panel. Much better quality than doing the quicktime conversion from within fcp. If you have qmaster set up properly, it will also output much faster than from within fcp.
ok. been doing something similar but using MPEG Streamclip OR Quicktime 7.
