iPhone 3G - No Wifi, GPS or Bluetooth

My spare iPhone, it is a 8GB iPhone 3G is working, as in no problems with calls, touch screen and 3G.They all work fine.

But the Wifi searches and finds nothing, even if next to the router (Other iPhones work fine), any router it does not catch wifi.

Bluetooth does not work and niether is the GPS.

I tried reset settings, airplane mode and reboot and even restore but nothing solves the issue.

Any idea what it may be?

On a side note: This iPhone has once been repaired about a year ago after it fell in the toilet. Everything worked good but after about 6 months the speaker of the earpiece and the light sensor stopped working, so i opened up the phone and the wire disconnected.

This was a little bit after the wifi, bluetooth, gps problem. The speaker and light ambient sensor now work perfectly and everything else is good but no wifi,gps or bluetooth.

Have you just upgraded the OS? Since 4.3.3 I lost WiFi and GPS, and having seen your thread I checked, and also have no Bluetooth.

It has iOS 3.1.3. It did have 4.x but i downgraded it. But i think it gave problems all of a sudden and not after an upgrade, and i think it was on 3.1.2 when it happened.

It also may depend on the WIFI signal. I think the 3G didn't have N Wireless and only worked for A/B/G. What is your wireless router set for? Most N routers have a fall back G/N combo, which is unfortunately slower, but it works!

I don't think that's the case because my friends iPhone 2G works fine with my wireless as does my PowerBook G4.

I have had the same problem since updating to 4.3, I can confirm that replacing the wifi/gps antenna fixes the problem.

although you don't need to go all the way to get the antenna out i only went as far as taking the headphone socket out and i found i could pry the antenna out without removing everything.

I ordered the antenna from ebay for a couple of quid.

If your not confident opening your phone take it to a phone repair specialist who can do it for you.

hopefully it stays fixed and i have updated to IOS 5. This is definately a problem with updating to 4.3.3 as other 3gs phones which havent been updated to 4.3.3 have been fine and it only seems to effect certain 3gs phones not all of them which is why its harder to prove.

Because most of them are out of warranty apple can just ignore the problem. which is why im moving to android phones as soon as my contract is finished, then i can say goodbye to the dreaded curse that is called itunes.
