Audiobook Purchase Problem

Earlier today I purchased two audiobooks from the itunes store on my iphone4. I got a message saying that I could not download them now as they required wi-fi. I didn't have an issue with this so thought I'd wait till I got home and try to download them here.

I synced the iphone to my PC using the cable and everything worked as usual, however there was no download activity. I was surprised so started to search for it. Up to this point I have been unable to find any record of my purchase which I find very strange. I went to STORE > VIEW MY ACCOUNT and clicked, entered my password and clicked against "Purchase History".. incidentally the 'Most Recent Purchase' was the 27th June 2011, today, which makes sense since I just purchased my two audiobooks. However in purchase history it does not show, my last purchases shown are for two updates to two apps on my phone which I also did today.

Next I tried the iTunes Store tab, clicked "Purchased" under the Quick Links section, and found it pretty interesting that I can ONLY see the Apps and Books icons for selection under 'Purcahse'... It seems according to this I have purchased no music at all (tried toggling the All / Not In My Library and still nothing). I have purchased a lot of music on iTunes so was surprised it's not here. As a result I was unable to try to get my books this way.

I have tried looking in the Purchased section, the Purchased on my iPhone section, I have tried looking in the downloads section on the iPhone itself and this is empty.

I have looked at and exhausted the following:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 - Doesn't help because my purchases are not visible for music.

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1424 - N/A

http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/#downloading_itunes_store_purchases - Unable to see my purchase.

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3082721 - This one states if I cannot see my purchase in my history it hasn't happened, can I be confident of this?

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3119227 - This is the closest to my issue I can find, however I have NOT repurchased on purpose after reading this.

Thank you for your time

I have a similar issue. I recently purchased three audiobooks from the iTunes store to my iPhone 4. The first one worked fine. The second two did not download because they were too large to download over a cellular network. I cannot find any of the three books in my purchase history and none show up in my iTunes library, even after synching.

I wonder if audible.com audiobooks do not record to the iTunes purchase history and so, as a result, cannot ever be re-downloaded.

I must say, after years of being a very happy iTunes customer, this is the second experience in a week that has shaken my confidence in this platform. If iTunes is going to let me purchase an audiobook on my phone that cannot be downloaded, and then won't let me download that audiobook file later, either, from my computer, that's just not right. I want Apple to resolve this issue.

Agree, I purchased 4 four audiobooks, the first one worked fine, however the other three (over $100 worth) started downloading, completed downloading but now do not show at all anywhere (they initially showed in the iTunes purchase section as greyed out as if they were downlading or processing but no longer).

I've been loyal to date but as the platform is getting unstable and as each of these books were cheaper through Amazon it looks like it's time for a change.

Yes, I got the same infuriating problem.

iTunes shows some books that I bought, but not others (money that i flushed down the toilet, it seems)

More infuriatingly, the Purchased link shows some of my purchased Music, but NO books at all! Hundreds of dollars apparently donated do Apple.

I'm going back to buying to paper books, Apple is just ridiculous.
