App Store not seeing Final Cut Pro X store purchase

App Store not seeing Final Cut Pro X store purchase.

This is uniformly a UNRELIABLE way to make a professional purchase. While Motion and Compressor show INSTALLED, Final Cut Pro still shows the price. Going to my Purchase history does not show the purchase for any of the three Apps. I now can't risking installing them on a second computer.

Additionally, if I go to Purchased in the App Store, none of the three apps show as purchased.

Apple does not provide live App Store purchase support. I had to fight like **** (avoid answering any of their automated phone support questions) to get to a live Customer Service Rep. After explaining the details, they had no recommendation beyond, "Use email support for App Store purchases." After telling them that wasn't acceptable, especially for a supposed Pro App from someone who must do additional installs. they've escalated and I'm waiting for a call back.

On first callback they suggested trying to Authorize the computer through iTunes. I tested and reported to them, no change.

In my App Store account I see

FCP 299.99

Motion INSTALLED

Compressor INSTALLED

in Purchased tab I see

none of the three above apps listed as purchased.

I like the potential of FCPX but even if it were ready to go as a professional NLE, this is simply NOT the way a facility can trust making a purchase for multiple seats.

____

As a side note, when I made the purchase, my credit card called me to confirm that it was legit because they were suspicious of a $300 iTunes purchase. Apparently Apple's info to the credit card companies indicates it as an iTunes purchase and they were rightfully unsure that someone was making a $300 music download.

I am experiencing a similar, though slightly different, problem.

When I open the App Store, under Motion and Compressor, it says "INSTALLED." But under Final Cut Pro X, it says, "INSTALL," as if to suggest that I've purchased it but not yet installed it. It is, in fact, installed (and I've been running it).

Interestingly, when I go into the iTunes (App) Store and bring up "My Account," then open the summary page of my recent purchases, it shows that I've purchased Motion 5 for $49.99, Compressor 4 for $49.99 and Final Cut Pro X for $299.99. But then it also shows another purchase of Final Cut Pro X for $0.00. I have no idea what that is. But I can't help wondering if it has something to do with why FCPX shows up in the App Store as "INSTALL" instead of "INSTALLED."

I've reported a problem to Apple through my account, but they haven't responded. (It's been a week.)

I found this somewhere... and it works. It was originally in reference to iWork, but works the same for FCPx

I actually copied the SAME ""_MASReceipt" folder from iWork into FCP and a bunch of other programs that I had bought through other channels. All but one worked and registered with the app store as installed.

good luck!

This is the only thing that works. Messing with the permissions doesn't do anything. There should be a package receipt when you download from the app store. Do the following for the apps not showing up and you should be ok. I have used iWork as an example as this worked for me.

1. move iwork apps to "Applications" folder from "iWork" folder
2. find a previously installed app from the app store or download a free app (for the purpose of fixing)
3. right click on installed or downloaded app and "Show Package Content"
4. open "Contents" folder
5. copy "_MASReceipt" folder (right click -> Copy "_MASReceipt")
6. paste this in each iwork apps' "Content" folder (right click "Show Package Content" -> "Content" )
7. Relaunch "Finder" and "AppStore" (not necessary but good practice)
8. find iwork '11 in AppStore and verify

After lots of emails and phone calls, they suggested I toss FCPX in the trash and download again. At that point it worked for me. Showed Installed. You may need to have them get it to show in Purchased though first.

They sent me an email a couple of days later saying they've found the problem and it should now be fixed for everyone. Seems not to be the case for Switch900 since it's not showing as purchased.

Thank you for the solution and following the directions offered did resolve the issue that the App Store recognized that I had installed FCPX under Purchased; however the App Store still does not show the Update I know is available for FCPX. Anecdotal, and I am not certain the issues are related, but perhaps the receipt file contains information necessary for Updates to activate?

I have not received a response regarding the issue through e-mail support but will continue to pursue the issue. I would really prefer not to have to download the entire App again.
