Autocorrect cannot be dismissed in some cases

This bug occurs when using iPhone 4 with ios 4.3.3 and iPad with ios 4.2.1.

I'm a web developer. I'm having a bug with the following reproduction steps:

1. Create a textarea, and use addEventListener to bind "touchstart" or "touchmove" events to the textarea or any div behind the textarea.

2. Type a misspelled word in the textarea such that an autocorrect popup appears.

3. Attempt to dismiss the autocorrect suggestion by clicking on the x.

Result: the autocorrect suggestion will not disappear.

Note that this bug occurs on Facebook when trying to update your status via the website through safari on the iPhone.
